Glazing Seals | Fire Resistant SystemsGlazed panels or complete glazed screens are often required to allow vision and natural light through fire-rated internal walls and doors. Indeed, fire resistant glazing seals can provide an important safety benefit - other building occupants can be seen on the other side of the door, as can hazards such as smoke in the case of a fire. Approved Document M to the Building Regulations (England & Wales) now also places an increased importance on the role of glazed panels in doors. Noberne Seals’ extensive range of glazing systems provide solutions for most glazing applications and are supported by in depth technical assistance and documentary evidence to give confidence to the user or specifier.

Lorient's fire resistant glazing seals systems are designed to hold the glass firmly in place during normal use, but in the event of fire the intumescent material expands, securing and insulating the glass and protecting the surrounding timber. Although there are no specific test procedures to determine the performance of a glazed aperture or multi-paned construction in relation to smoke, Lorient systems are designed to minimize smoke transfer, and fit tightly on the perimeter of the glass to eliminate undesirable rattle at the same time. Lorient's System-36 glazing system can also be installed in a fire-rated door without compromising acoustic performance.
